Creaking when...

Featured Replies

Hey guys, hoping someone can help shed some light on the most recent issues I'm having with my 55 plate Fabia VRS. It was off the road for around 3 months at the end of last last year after I was unfortunate enough to fall victim to my turbo going 'pop' :(

Anyway, it's been on the road since then & has been driving fine until I recently discovered a creaking noise when completing the following movements:

Braking (suddenly - non-gradual braking)

Dipping & releasing the clutch

If the car jerks (sudden stopping or starting required)

Turning on a full lock

It's difficult to describe the noise but it's not like a brake pad squeak. Definitely more of a creak, could it be something like engine mounts/gearbox mounts - It seems that any slight/sudden movement causes this noise.

I'm not the most mechanically savvy so apologies, if the answer is obvious, but I've not heard something like this before.

Hope anyone can help?

Mark :)

Probably will be anti roll bar bushes.. That'd be my guess

I'm getting this too and need to get it looked at. I know my drop links are past their best, so I might get it booked in for new links and new bushes, see if it goes away.

Maybe check up round about the TCA rear voided bushes for cracks, or if they have been replaced with solid Cupra ones it might be the salty curd that is causing them to get a bit noisy so they might like some rubber compatible grease sprayed in round about that area to see if that quietens them for a while.
