Had the car scanned yesterday and these faults came up under "ENGINE"

Copied exactly from printout.

18009 - Relay for supply voltage terminal 30 (J317)

P1601 - 35-00 - Implausible signal

and

17911 - Load signal from alternator term. DF

P1503 - 35-10 - Implausible signal- Intermittent

The first one is the one that worries me...

Any VAGcom experts out there that can explain in

plain English?

Thanks very much.

Problem fixed, it was indeed the two wires going into the alternator both of which had broken.

Just test driven and all is well. The light is staying off!! :D

Thanks to softscoop and others who pointed me in the right direction

Had my indy do the work mostly because I had no safe way of getting under the car

to fix it myself. I used Streetwise Automotive in Bristol, who charged me a very reasonable

£40.50 inc scans and fault code clearing to repair the fault.

Result

However if it's dry at Combe next time Garry that ESP needs switching off!!
