Featured Replies

I have been promised so many different delivery dates that seeing will be believing!!!

Click on the link in my Signature to see how the dates cvhanged while I was waiting - we have all been in the same boat and sadly it's not unusual

Same as me Sandy. One minute it is at the dealers then miraculously it's back in Germany!! Then its registered, then de-registered and now I am not sure what's happening. Won't get it before the new Reg now.

I was given a build date that moved one week a month before. Three weeks after the build week it was in the UK.

Both Yetis the same.

Wish we they would all stop telling such lies and be honest with us!

What did you order? Ordered my CR 170 Eleg (with options) back in May 2011 and now its been suggested that I won't see the car until July......

Well fed up now.

That is ridiculous Stevie. I ordered my greenline elegance in August.

I'm beginning to think I've been really lucky.

Ordered last week of November. Arrived at the dealer middle of Janaury. Delivery arranged for 9th March see this thread

Where was it ordered from?

My 170 Elegance was ordered end of August.

Dealer said mid February arrival for a 12 plate in March... it arrived last week.

I'm wondering if you got it from a dealer that had already used up their allocation of build slots and didn't tell you?

It seems to depend on the dealer ... mine arrived at West End Garage in Broxburn pretty much when they said it would and is all ready for 1 March collection.

Mine is a 170 Elegance with extras ordered last May.

I ordered it from a broker in Chesterfield so I'm not sure who the dealer was - but I'm now pretty certain that you're right - they have used their allocation and not given me the full facts.

I now have a problem. Do I wait or start to look at overpriced ex-demo/second hand cars and put up with a lesser spec.

Yes, that's a shame. :(

If the broker is putting a lot of business through one dealer as they are getting low prices, then it does sound like they have used up their allocation and without passing the information on are getting much longer waiting times than other dealers.

Thing is, you've waited this long. I'd see the deal out and get the car you really want rather than a compromise.

But that's my personal opinion.

To be honest, I've come around to that way of thinking myself. The old C4 is still running ok for the moment (just had to replace a clutch at 50k - hence never buying French again) so fingers crossed, nothing else will pack in!

Thanks for your comments though - appreciated.

You aren't the only one wishing our Chesterfield friends were more truthful, my so called end of March 170 Elegance, is now being expected in 'August', that's an unbelievibly long time to wait another 6 months. Oh yes and I now have three choices, keep the order, give up or see what stock they just might be able to get me sooner.

But do I trust the new 'estimated' delivery date.....

Why can you not simply ask your supplier, whether dealer or broker, for your official Skoda order number, and thereafter contact SUK Customer Services direct for an update on your order?

Anyone on here waiting for a Yeti from Bristos of Ipswich? cos I am

I've tried this multiple times without success. I think the dealer is being somewhat cagey about providing this to the broker - although I can't be sure.

Sounds like it's time to call in Trading Standards then.

Well perhaps because, as I said above, there are no order numbers yet since the dealer is waiting to get to a month where he is allowed to order again... But even if that is not the case I know most of these brokers refuse to give you an order number. Unlike Drivethedeal where you get one as soon as the dealer you are dealing with gets it. Real peace of mind.

Are the problems with build and delivery dates common with other Skoda models or is it just with the Yeti?

If you believe what I'm told by autofinders, it is the 2 lt 4x4 diesel engine combo that is in any VAG car. A local dealer just said about the 2lt diesels. If it is, why don't they just start making more? 6 month waiting lists across europe would mean a new line in a factory being paid for surely

I ordered my 170 elegance Yeti in November and it was delivered exactly 3 month later.

Solid paint, and the only extras were heated front windscreen and alarm (the alarm is not standard in Ireland)

I had been very sceptical about the 'optimistic' delivery date but the dealer was spot on.
