Reverse Sensor Switch location?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Does anyone have a location and if poss a picture of the reversing switch on the above car? Mine works initially, but as soon as I start to move the lights and rear sensors go out.

The engine block is obv moving enough to stop the connection for the lights etc.

Cheers!

Usually right on top of the gearbox, or on the side near the starter motor. Sorry I can't be more help but it will be the only electrical wire coming from the gearbox which ISN'T the starter motor.

Cheers man. Nothing coming up in VCDS, so has to be a mechanical problem with the plunger or perhaps dodge connection! Guess a job for the weekend ;)

Found the issue: Broken wire on that switch!

The wire covers' collar had worn through the actual wire.

Found this thread cheers and just sorted mine. Had broken in exactly the same place. Soldered in a new length of wire and heat shrinked the joint :)

Hi Guys - any chance of other pics to find that wire location? I think mine has done the same

If you remove the air filter box its right underneath. One of the few wires going in to the gearbox (unless you have an DSG).

The second picture is looking down from the top with the air filter box removed - the wire in question was the one with the rusty colour plug at the end.

What if the switch is not connecting in the box, eg to short.
