Order time for 1.2 tsi engines

Featured Replies

I am wondering whether there are massive delays on the 1.2 tsi engine Fabia or is it just diesels?

What is the 1.2 tsi 86 like on actual fuel consumption

Depending on specification, you may be able to find a Fabia in Skoda stock. These will be built in varying colours and specifications but it can save on the wait.

Regarding build times on a 1.2 TSI 86, Skoda are advising us to quote around 22 weeks, BUT this is more of a worse case scenario and would estimate a more realistic time of 12 to 16 weeks.

Hope this helps.

The big delays are for the DSG 'box. But you can often jump the queue to an extent, by finding a dealer with one on order with whatever engine/gearbox you want, and then changing the colour & spec to suit (depending on how far along it is, of course).

If you don't want to wait, this is good advice, picked up a new Monte on Thursday after agreeing to buy it on the Saturday before last (i.e. 12 days). Just went through Skoda UK's unassigned list of cars in or shortly to be delivered to the UK. May have to accept other colours/specs that perhaps you would not have chosen, but you can get a new car quickly this way. pearce_jj also others good advice, but his may not be so accesible/easy to do?

What are you looking for in terms of Economy? Obviously i have only had the car a few days days and only done about 90 miles so far but i can get over 40 mpg from it but i have been having fun. Absolutely love the car, its really good fun to drive (i haven't been hanging around and I am trying not to exceed 3000 rpm to much at present). Even when i took one for a test drive over a farly spirited 15 mile circuit it returned just under 40 with 4000 miles on the clock. i guess if i drive it sensibly i should get a good return.

I'd love to get this sort of return out of the vRS but that is never going to happen :D , especially as i wont get to drive it until the wifes achilles tendon heals (left leg so she can therefore drive an auto/dsg).

We have a 2010 Elegance 1.2TSI 85 and generally our mpg is in the low 40's fill to fill, with the computer giving readings in the high 40's. When we first got the car it was slightly better but oddly rather than improve with mileage, it's dropped off.

Have driven a newer 11 plate SE 1.2TSI 86 recently and the fuel consumption on the computer was better than ours, giving figures in the low 50's.

Dunno how things are in the UK but the Swedish skoda page has removed fabia vrs from "build your own".. If it is related to dsg shortage or new fabia coming out shortly, I'll leave it for some one else to speculate.

I am getting 43 /48 1.2 TSI (86)ps mid 30s running in

A dealer told me today that if you place an order for a new Fabia with the DSG box then its unlikely you will take delivery this year :@
