new turbo or new engine?

im currently deciding wheter or not it would be better to uprate my turbo, etc or fit a bam engine in and get it remapped? what are the advantages/disadvantes of either if anyone has done them.

I think you should stick with your AUQ, uprate the internals etc. and buy my spare gt30 Garrett for £350!!

You'd then have a 370+ bhp motor...

In my opinion that is not the right way to go.

You don't need a turbo with a massive gap between the idle speed and the point that the turbo becomes alive.

The bigger the turbo the later it comes so that it is almost impossible to ride.

This is the reason that today the manufacturers are mounting small turbo's with small innertias so that the turbo also spins with less exhaust gas.

If a big power is a wish then they combine a smaal turbo with a big one or even a mechanical driven airpump with a bigger turbocharger.

very difficalt to match but then the result is great.
