wheels and tyre storage

Featured Replies

guys......... where and how do you store your winter wheels/summer wheels when they arnt on the car

say 6 months at a time??

do you just wash and then stack them??

or do you use those storage bags etc

ive also heard some let the air out  then some say no

Look on ebay for a wheel tree, allows you to stack them without them touching each other and cover them up to stop the light damaging them. Personally I just stack them in the shed covered over lol

i still have my bbs boxes, and they have a shelf that fits 2 on each?? is that any good?

ive seen storage bags online too so was thinking put each in a bag, then in a box each

then stack 2 and 2 ?? just never had 2 sets of wheels and tyres before and cant afford to ruin them :'(

The boxes fits wheels with tyres on?

Stacked on their sides, not in direct sunlight.

Bottom tyre sitting on a some old foam matting or thick cardboard.

Yeah the fit, they r genuine bbs so these pack them cery well, the 19s go back in with the 215/35/19 on

The 1st shelve is like 2 ft up that takes 2 boxes then the other takes the last 2

I was gna pack them in storage bags and stuff in boxes lol

Would i just leave tyre pressures as they r when they come off the car?

Hehe at the mo the spiders are in our nice warm spare room :)

I felt mean putting them in the garage after i just had them refurbed

But ive alreadt been banned from stashing wheels and tyres in there lol

my wheels were stood up against or front room wall for ages.. i did try again but got told to use the bloody garage, So... thats where they are. id be lost without my garage!

I don't have a shed or a garage so there's my summer set in pieces in the conservatory with my motorbike as it acts as a garage anyway lol wifes split rims where in there aswell but there currently at her parents in there garage and my new winters got dropped off on Saturday which are currently in my dining room until I get the tyres fitted on Wednesday and when i put them on this saturday then the winters that are on my car now will get sent to the in laws for storage too,but wether its right or wrong I usually just leave them with air in and lay them down on cardboard and put a piece of cardboard in between each wheel and stack them up but think yours will be safe enough in there boxes :)

I store mine in the garage on a wheel tree, it holds them apart without any pressure/stress and saves room, there also do a slightly stronger version which is the one that I use. Hopefully the link below will take you to the Westfalia site, if it does not just go to westfalia.net and put the word wheel into the search box. :sun:

Keeping out the sun to stop tyre degradation is probably #1 priority. Mine just get locked away in the shed. :)
