Help With Fault Code

Featured Replies

engine light came on over the weekend so ran diagnostics today. came up with fault code 16395

also says:

Bank 1 Camshaft A (intake) Retard setpoint not reached

(over advanced)

P0011 - 35-00--

On cold startup it sounds really loud but this stops after 20-30 secs but there is another "rattly" noise coming from I think the left side of engine bay. just listening to her on idle now and it sounds like a diesel engine.

funny feeling I'm in for a nasty one here...

any ideas/suggestions much appreciated!!

Is it a Vrs? When was it last serviced? And has the oil pick up pipe ever been changed? Nasty noises like you describe at the top of the engine can be Related to poor oil flow

As above I too think you may have a blocked oil pick up. It's not expensive to fix, & a very common problem.

16395 could be your cambelt has slipped a tooth.

Possible Symptoms

  • Power Loss

Possible Causes

Possible Solutions

  • Check Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205)
  • Check Fuel Pump Relay (J17)
  • Check Mechanical Timing

Special Notes

It`s a camshaft sensor, soon you will not be able to start the engine at all because ECU shuts down fueling due this error.

The noise during the cold start up I guess is failing SAI pump,it`s a separate problem.

i changed the oil pick up pipe only recently cause i thought this was the problem but its still there. guy at a local garage had a listen and hiss irst reply was that itr souded like oil not reaching top of engine quick enough..

when i changed pick up pipe i broke the head off one of the 2 nuts that hold the oil hose that runs up to the turbo. it left a gap and leaked small amount of oil for only one day then stopped leaking. could this be affecting the overall oil pressure??

cleared the code today and not returned yet. driving as litttle as possible...

should i stop driing altogether?

the local skoda garage has no power cause a couple of transformers blew in the area hence i havent brought it in yet. typical ;/

and yes sorry its a mk1 vrs

Could be a oil pressure problem aswell, might be worth connecting a gauge to check
