Is My Car Haunted? (Elegance Spec Estate)

Featured Replies

Yesterday whilst I was in the back of the house my daughter came running round from the front to ask why I had opened the car windows and why the lights had flashed.

I told her not to be ridiculous but went to look. (The car was on the drive at the front of the house and the key was in my pocket with the spare in a locked filing cabinet)

Sure enough all 4 windows were about one quarter open.

I unlocked and locked the car but the windows stayed put so I got in and closed them.

I re-locked the car - and have had no further problems (fingers crossed).

Anyone had this happen to them or have any ideas what might have happened?

Cheers.

This can happen quite easily. If you hold the unlock button on the key fob, the windows will go down, and they will go back up when you hold the lock button. If it was in your pocket, it could easily happend

My guess is that the "unlock" button must have been pressed and held down whilst in your pocket, the indicators would flash as it was unlocked and then the windows would all come down (as they do when you use this function). The principal I assume is to allow the car to remotely cool down if required in hot weather. If this occurs again (unless the car really is haunted) then you can just hold down the lock button as long as you are in range of the key and the windows will all rise back into place.

Happened to me 2 days ago as well while I was washing it (it was locked)....

Suddenly the windows (and sunroof) opened approximately 1/5... Figured the key had been depressed in my pocket ....

yup.. the holding the unlock will result in all windows being wound down and for cars with sunroof, for the roof to open with a tilt.

great way to cool the car in hot weather and of coz impress buddies driving non VW makes ;)

Sorry, but your car is definitely haunted.

This unexplainable phenomenon first appeared to your daughter, spectral apparitions are well known to manifest to the young first.

The 'flashing' lights is more evidence of a disturbance in the temporal field surrounding your car - a transfer of ecto-plasmic energy will look like a quick headlight or indicator flash to the untrained eye.

The opening of the windows if further confirmation of a trapped vehicular entity; you have unwittingly created an incarcerated spirit.  As you had one key in your pocket and the other locked away your mind has 'locked-down' the car and spiritually sealed the space inside so a ghost cannot get in or out.  The windows are being opened as a cry for you to mentally set free the unfortunate phantom.

Luckily you do not have to put up with this, in the past you would have required a priest to exorcise the car but a quick spray with Halfords Banshee-Banish or De-ghouling Cleanser should clear this up.

Just phoned Halfords and they are out of stock of the Banshee-Banish but they do have some De-ghouling Cleanser still in @ £7.99 per can.

Thanks for the answers. I guess the key in pocket scaenario seems most likely.

SkodaTC and sausage roll - you need help - but you made me laugh.

Thanks for cheering me up when I'm feeling gloomy about the prospect of work in a couple of hours.
