Not Happy, New Dent In Wing

Featured Replies

Went shopping yesterday and parked in multistory.

Did not even think about cheking car. Later in evening went out to local tesco express and noticed a odd reflection from street light. Then realised the drivesr wing has been hit. By the damage would say a car bumper hit the lower rear side of arch but pressed in whole wing panel. So annoyed at the s***head who did this.

Now a dilemma of getting insurance or just pay as excess will be more the the job is worth.

Going to call multi story (Gunwhalf) to see if any cameras caught anything...Arghhhh

Hopefully will just pull out cleanly. :) Doubtful you'll need to bother with insurance.

When I had a small bump in my Octy MK2 the wing was pressed in on the front. However a bit of brute force I was able to pull it out with my hands, and after a quick polish to remove the transferred paint you would not have known anything had happened.

Ahhh nightmare!!!!

But, it can be fixed.... and hopefully the lad/lass who did it will get four punctures tonight!

Don't think i can pull it out as there are dents as well as the panel pushed in. So even if i pull main panel out the dents will be there.

The easiest dents to pull out (place near me uses air compressor and tool that looks like a heavy duty sink plunger :D) are the ones which have been pushed in, rather than "hit"

i feel for you mate, i hate parking in public carparks! only last october me and a mate went to the NEC to come back and find my car had been wacked on both sides by careless idiots getting out of there cars, then the wife wonders why i always park the otherside of the carpark and take two spaces if i can get away with it.

And then you get the "nutters" that park 2" away from your door, when yours is the only car in that area.

Trents here in Poole has a silver vrs they are breaking. Worth a call. Wings are normally £30.

Bar-steward!

Feel for you man...a man of your capabilities,I'm sure you'll sort this out.

But,it's just so effing frustrating!

Makes me angry because I've experienced this more than once.

pretty sure gunwharf is crawling with cctv mate, should be worth a look. You can also go in there for 10 minutes and not pay for parking if they havent changed that rule. So could have a cheeky look.

dont tell the insurance mate unless you gonna claim from other party as it will still go against you even tho nothing comes of it.

there was a lad on here did that.

Really feel for you mate! hope it getas sorted.

Sorry to hear about this mate, thats a lovely car and all.

I would try and sort it yourself rather than go through insurance, when I had that brick dropped on my bonnet the insurers said because they couldn't pin the blame on a third party and claim from their insurance the whole thing would have to be claimed against my insurance so it would have been £200 excess, loss of NCD, and £££s of future premium increase so I just did it all myself in the end.

It happens to me as well, still cant find the hidden magnet in my car lol. I think a lot of drivers are in their own little world, so bl***y selfish without any care or consideration for someone elses property.

I have a set of vacuum dent pullers but they only are good for shallow 2-3 mm dings.

Trouble is, with a deep one the metal has been stretched and its almost impossible to shrink effectively.

Hope you can find a good solution without too much hassle buddy.

people are knobs in car parks just shunt cars then drive off

sad but if in a multi story or a large car park I will take a pic of the cars next to me lol. or get one on its own. but again always some D**K comes and parks next to you.

mothertruckers !!! :wall: i cant stand people like that, you must know you do it

then they **** off

people who dont respect other people stuff really ****es me off

REALLY..... and then you get the people who give "its only a car"

WRONG !!!!!!!! "ITS MY ONLY ******* CAR"

gutted for you mate

Yes it is , I called them yesterday, will not share the CCTV with me as part of data protection act. ridiculas...

However will share it with the Police. So I have to call Police and raise it as a crime. Did this today. As it is a criminal offence under the traffic act to not report a accident and exchange details the idiot can be arrested. Nice if i can find them. So Police have my details and the incident and will follow up with Carpark. Interesting they will only do this once I provide my Car MOT, Licence and valid Insurance. Makes it look like I am guilty right...Jesus..

Yep already thought of that. probably be under my excess so no dam point claiming unless I actually get proof of CCTV in which case will claim on the 3rd party should the evidence be in my favour, else will just cough up the repair myself.

Typical as i am just coming into 5th year of ownership and just stating to someone day before no accidents and looking to year ahead with a few final mods. I must of tempted fate...
