Wiring Advice Estate Boot Light Switch

Featured Replies

Hi all...

I am having a bit of a problem with the boot light switch on my Estate (2005). There is an helpful thread elsewhere but it doesn't contain the information I am looking for. I have also researched this issue and it appears that this switch which is contained in the boot lock catch(the part of the lock that is in the tailgate lid) is a bit of a weak spot throughout the VAG range.

There are three wires that fit into the boot catch by way of a little flat multi connector and I was hoping that someone could identify the function of these three wires so that I can temporarily short out the two wires that actually control the on/off of the boot light itself, thereby proving absolutely that the boot light switch is faulty ( I'm not sure that mine is faulty).

The non switching on light is the only problem on the entire car.........

I hope this post has made sense

Thanks everyone

Tom
