Hi all

First time posting here, but i've been observing from a distance for a while and hope you can give me some guidance...

I have a 10 plate 1.4 TSI which is shortly due a service (on variable format, service indicator is around 2000 at present)

Firstly do I have to go to Skoda to ensure my warranty isn't invalid? Or can I go elsewhere as long as they use Skoda genuine parts?

Secondly, how much should I be looking at paying for this service - I have been a bit lazy and not asked Skoda themselves yet, just wondered if anyone knows a ball park figure? (car will have done 24000 at service - first service was prior to taking ownership last June)

Finally, I live in Maidstone - any recommendations where to go for the service? I bought the car from the Aylesford dealership who also do servicing, but wondered if anyone knows of any other garages in the area??

Always phone around, my local VAG Indy wanted MORE than the local dealer for extra work that's not needed. You can barter with the dealers as well, just remember, yes you CAN have it serviced elsewhere but it might come back to bite you when you sell or need warranty work. Normally I would get the car main dealer serviced for the first 3 years at least but it depends on the saving if any,
