Formula 1 2012

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a European Satellite TV channel which will be broadcasting all the 2012 Formula 1 races and which does not require a subscription. Preferably one that can be picked up in the UK with 60cm dish.

Think we'd all like to know that !

Should have done a google search first as there is a lot of info available but none of it appears to have been tested yet - races do not start till next month. I am going to buy this dish -

and try to align it to the German station listed here

If anyone has done this please post their experience

Luckily my TV has a Satellite tuner built in

Why don't you watch them from a streaming website? There's normally a good few to choose from..

liveonsat.com is a handy place to look for anything sport related

as a plug, i might have a tm500 box for sale soon if your interested (google it to see what it does :) )

All good now.

Bought 60cm oval dish package from Amazon and some better cable as I needed a long cable run. All installed and aligned to Astra1 (19.2E). As I have a Sat receiver in my TV a quick tune and I can get all the German RTL channels which will showing F1 Qualifying and Race Day for all races - as well as some 354 other channels.

It appears that RTL will have adverts, also that the Radio5 commentary could be slightly out of sync with the TV but there are ways round this on most systems

sometimes simply pressing the audio button on the remote will give you an English option

and yes radio5 will always be a few seconds out :(

Well it all worked fine, RTL do show adverts and managed to time them rather badly this race - missed 2 incidents but the German commentary was not too intrusive (do not speak German).

Great race though all the way through the pack, looks good for the rest of the season . First time ever to see a Pace Tow-Truck.

Well worth the one-off £40 total cost for this race alone.

Well, I watched the extended highlights on BBC HD and was quite impressed. I missed the pre-race build up but thought that the race itself was well commented and edited.

My big gripe was that www.bbc.co.uk put the result on the front page for all to see with no warning. At least the TV news and radio gave you a warning. I've made an official complaint to BBC and will now change my homepage......to what?
