Oct vRS in W Wales

Featured Replies

Hello to all members here from Dolgellau, W Wales. Have read various posts on here over the years.

I bought a new Oct vRS in Jan 06 - it was a special order and one of the last MK1s produced. Thought I would have 1 more "quick" car before I had to think sensibly as getting older.

For someone that used to do 45k plus per annum, I now can walk to work, hence the car has only done 28.2k now!!! I have enjoyed many fast cars (usually two new ones in a year) in my mainland working life and this car has not failed to please.

So just past its' sixth birthday I have had to shell out for two new springs on the front, 4 new disks and pads, new battery and 4 new tyres plus servicing on two year cycle. Now am told front wheel bearing may be going, which surprises me for only 28K. When I changed the battery, it was out of the car for four days. With new battery in, I now find the drivers door central locking inoperative (must lock by key) and the alarm light next to the door lock push is off as well. I suspect that the alarm may be directly connected to battery for power?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards

Pete

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hello Pete and welcome along

Love your part of the World, we have some friends in Llanfacreth.

Llanfachreth, yes, very close to here. As there are only about 2500 people in the area (full-timers), a number of us have many acquaintances. This is my first foray into living in the wild west (countryside) and though took a while to get used to, loving it.

Alkip, ask your friends if they know of a Canadian couple, that's us. My wife is an artist and also runs a health practice.

Done a bit of searching on this site and believe I have found the problem with my vRS. A great place for info.

Regards to All from Snowdonia
