Picked up my 55 Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi Bohemia Estate on Saturday and am very pleased so far.

Are there any generic issues I should know about with the car?

Welcome to briskoda! The main common faults can be found in the fabia 1 section. (I take it's a mark 1?)

If so the main one seems to be leaky door carriers on the rear doors, resulting in water leaking into rear footwells. There are guides and many threads in the section about this

Thanks for the welcome and tips.

I have looked at the leaking door thread and will have a closer look at the carpets tomorrow. I certainly haven't noticed anything that would suggest water in the car. no condensation, mildew etc and it has a good history so possibly the fix has been done.
