Did anyone on here get a playstation vita? If so names and overall thoughts of it waste of money or work of pure genious??

I've played with one, and its a lovely piece of kit. Think its going to be a very niche product like the PSP.

For me, i've got consoles for gaming at home, and a phone for gaming on the move. I can count on one hand the number of times a year i'll need a device like a Vita.

If you spend hours a day on a train or plane, i'd imagine its by far the best gaming device available.

Just walked into my bro's room and found him playing one. To be honest thought it was his psp not much difference at a glance lol

We looked at one yesterday while buying my dauther a game for her PSP, It is nice with some great features but the guy in the shop doesn't recon it will be a big hit.

Looking at some of the review sites, the Vita has loads of software bugs with users complaining of blank screens, system hangs, wifi issues and more.

Not sure the device has a future, the PSP Go did not sell very well. The world has changed a lot, I think a lot of mobile gaming these days is done on mobile devices like Ipods, Iphones and Android smartphones. I am guessing also that the games for Vita will be very much controlled by Sony, so you wont see games like Angry Birds, Temple Run and so on. Games on Smartphones are also way cheaper than anything the Vita will come up with.

Sony still have a fetish for all things proprietary like the Vita memory cards and media/game cards. Memory Stick, UMD and Minidisc also come to mind. I don't think it'll do very well, mobile gaming is via smartphones and ipods these days.

Sony need the PS4 to be a smash hit or they could be in trouble.

I've got one, I really enjoy it, just the fact I can turn it on and play multiplayer FIFa or wipeout etc on the go
