Im thinking about setting a challenge for both me and my Fabia vRS (when i get it) Im going to do a Clarkson type trip coverging huge number of miles on one tank. What do you think i could get out of a Fabia vRS filled to the brim and driven at a constant 50-60mph? I was thinking Peterborough to Edinburgh.

erm about 530 ish miles but if full full you can get about 650 from a tank if using reserve

Well we can do Peterborough to York on 1/3 tank and that's booting it but I think the top of the tank is larger than the bottom on the Fabia's...

The handbook says about 45 litres including the 7 litre reserve. That equates to about 9.89 gallons.

My best ever run was a trip from Gloucester to Bath - part urban' date=' part motorway, part A road. [/color']The trip computer showed 63.8mph for the journey. The trip computer is ALWAYS overreading by between 2 and 4 mpg on every fill - hence the Bath trip was an actual 61mpg journey or thereabouts. However it wasn't a "particualry" economy drive...

Taking 9.89 x 61 = 603 miles so let's say 600 miles is a potential target. The AA Journey Planner reckons Peterborough to Edinburgh is 320 miles, so on that analysis you've an outside chance of making it there and back.

However I'd be wary of running out - what happens if you're in a dangerous location at the time? If you caused an accident as a consequence your defence of "I was doing an economy test" would be pretty thin... :o

My money is on 700 :D
