dsg woes, new mechatronic unit fitted about 2 weeks ago,

but computer still says..............................................................................................NO

no beef re the wee 1.6 diesel, 100% happy wit it so far, good performance, easy on fuel, despite the dpf, no dpf woes, uses no oil either, quiet and smooth.

You should have a courtesy car if not kick off royally!

After five weeks, I think I'd be rejecting the car.

Many Golfs here are having issues with gearboxes, mostly manual, but their have been cases of the DSG.

computer still says no...................................or actually indeed refuses to communicate with the car at all

or so I have been told,

computers.......eh!

I intend to give it to wed before kicking off again

35 mpg in the courtsey car is killing me,

P.S

I will be looking a replacment vehicle unless sommat is sorted pdq

Eh up!

Might as well have booked her into a back street indepentant as opposed to a franchised Skoda Dealer!

Though in honesty, I think the problem lies with either

(i) Skoda UK or

(ii) their apparently dysfunctional diagonstic system

As opposed to the dealer whose hands are tied.

Cos finally after 3 or 4 weeks they, being Skoda technical, have finally decided to try another clutch pack

DOH!

I had my clutch pack replaced under warranty.

What is narking me is the inability to fathom what is wrong, either it shows up as a fault code,or there is a glitch in the Software, once mechanical gremlins are eliminated & surely the few possible mechanical gremlins should be relatively easy to diagnose.

On a related point I am certain that the problem was there from the build date, except we did not have occassion to notice until we happened to park on a slope. We live in a relatively flat area, or leastwise I only seem to park where it is flat.

My immeadiate but techinacally uneducated diagnosis was a software issue,&I still remain to be convinced otherwise.

its easy to blame the computer when u cant or dont want to fix it. is it the supplying dealer?

  • Author

It is not the supplying dealer,

I gave up on them pdq, plus the dealer I am using is only 40 mile away as opposed to the 70/ 80 odd to the supplying dealer.

I think they are committed to sorting our problem, they certainly seem to be straight, if a touch embarrassed by the slow progress.

I did get to meet the actual mechanic, & liked him straight off, so all in all happy with this particular dealership.

Fingers crossed Skoda UK will offer some satisfactory compensation for our considerable prolonged inconvience.

cheers

Ho hum,

On Saturday morning I was promised wor car today, Monday.( and btw this was as a result of an unsolicited ph call, as I had given up phoning.)

Because the clutch pack was delivered on Friday past.

A straightforward fit apparently.

But I did think they were being a trifle optimistic

Strangely I got neither the car nor another ph call today.

Derp!

Dammned computers.

So I will give them to Wed, an try again, or indeed sic Senior Managment on them.

Not the best treatment of a customer by any means. Hope things pick up soon.

Just pondering,

It is actually easier to maintain the1998 backdoor imported incredibly rare RHD Steyr Puch van, some parts for which have now been discontinued, than a current model mainstream car.

My Evo when I had it went in for 14 weeks. I think the frustration wore of at about 7 weeks.
