Regarding the running-in/oil guzzling issues.. I didn't exactly hang around from new..mine still uses a fair bit of oil..approx 1L/1500miles,not overly excessive but doesn't seem to be getting any better with age..up to 12k now.

1litre oil for every 1500 miles, that's averaging 10 litres oil every 12 months

Not quite in 2stroke bike territory From what I've read it is "within tolerance" think 1L/600 or 800 miles is deemed acceptable for the TSI

But if you factor the oil usage into the mpg!, that's a couple of £ a week just for oil might as well buy a Mazda 6 with the funny engine

I thrashed mine from day one and all I have put in is half a litre of oil for 4,000 miles, my dealer said and I quote " drive it like it was stolen" LOL .
