Xenons - 2004 L&K

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I have started shouting at the internet and its not listening.

I have a 54 plate L&K estate with factory fit xenons(they move up and down on their own and everything!)

Every website I plug my car details into chucks out H7 and H1, which I assume are Halogen. Nothing seems to push out a D coded 'bulb'

Am i going mad or this something others have come up against.

What kind do I need to replace both the projector 'bulbs' on each side?

One has gone all 'sunrisey' for want of a better description!(reddish hue)

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks

James

Pretty sure you need D2S for the dipped, H1 for the main beam

Ah ha, thankyou!!

So the dipped beam is gas discharge, but the main is a halogen, both with projector lenses then?

Thanks again

James

Outer projector lens is the fog light.

Whats the fog light then? I believe its an H8, halogen in a projector?

Foglight is H3. And it's not unusual to find halogen in projectors. Both my Civic and 206 had them.

If you want to colour match the main beam, try Philips DiamondVision. 5000k temperature. I use them.

If you want to upgrade your Xenons to 6000k, there's some guy on eBay who does Philips Ultinon 6000k for about 60 delivered. Worth it, looks immense.

Mmmmm shiny! and only £60!

So 2 x Philips Ultinon 6000k for dipped. Done

Then 2 x H1 Diamondvision 5000k for the main

Any tips on fog light to match?, although technically only a fog light, only to be used in fog!

Yeah, they're genuine too. Usually retail for something stupid like 120!

The foglights I've been trying to match for ages and it's a bitch! I think DiamondVisions are the best option but they ain't cheap in H3 format. H1 they're fairly reasonable.

Right, all ebayed out!

Have ordered,

2 x D2S Ultinon 6000k

2 x H1 Ultravision 5000k

2 x ebay cheapy 501 LED sidelights

2 x ebay 100W 5000K H3 foglight bulbs.

Circa 100 quid the lot.

I will report back with photos to see how the colours all match(probably not at all!)

Thanks

Ok changed them all over this afternoon, apart from side lights which didnt arrive in time, typical!

All is good with the Ultinons, although the Ultravision are a bit too blue for my liking, and the fog lights are crap, but hey ho, 2.50 off ebay, what do i expect!!

One problem though, my self levelling isnt working, and can't even contact the module with vag-com.

Can I have plugged in the second connector on the passenger side wrong(if thats what its for, self levelling)?

Any tips or help appreciated.

Thanks

James

Ultravision? I've not heard of those! Got a link?

Regarding the levelling, mine don't work now since reconstruction but it was deliberate, as they always levelled far too low.

I found that the levelling connection is really quite delicate. Push the levelling connectors in very firmly and they should work, which us what happened with mine the first time.

Failing that, there's a small hole atop the headlight, through the metalwork. Play happy adjustment families with a Philips screwdriver through that if you're not happy with the level.
