Help identifying a hose

Featured Replies

its the one that comes off the Y shaped hose, behind the intake manifold, onto a U shaped rubber hose then under the intake and up into the intake.

getting P0171 and i can hear a hissing. if i press the hose at the top the hissing gets louder so im assuming its there

Yep in that diagram its the light blue one going into the manifold to the right of the pink one.

This is the exact pipe I had a massive split in today, skoda want £17 for a new one!

I should point out that that's for just the pipe coming out of the inlet to the junction not the whole set.

look up creation motorsport and call them for their full crankcase breather set - 3 pipes i think for about £60

they couldnt find the set but the hose i need is only £22 delivered so ordered it :D

come to do this today, not too bad if you remove the plate thing infront of it, can get some access if u have small hands ;)

i looked around and it all looked fine, cut off the cover that bands the 2 hoses together and it looked fine so i started to look around it and hey prestooooo, undersude of it has a 2" massive hole. no wonder the car was throwing such a hissy fit. so ive done a temp fix and wrapped it in duck tape lol.

ordering the hose and going to do a couple of others that are starting to split at the same time.

only thing is, HOW THE HELL DO I UNDO THOSE SILLY CRIMP STYLE CLIPS :(

A flat bladed screwdriver between clip and hose and wiggle up and down works. It's a bit of a pain and mind your pinkies !

lol cool thanks. can they be re-used or am i better replacing with jubilee etc?

No they are fit once only. So get some nice stainless jubilee clips.

Just out of interest, does the car jerk really bad on idle from cold?

I have a hissing coming from the manifold but clears up after 5 mins or so and the engine returns to normal.

from start up the idle goes a tad higher but drops, it can drop to lower or higher than normal. my hissing was constant from the manifold area and loud. problems were moreso when driving, problems pulling away, shaking on idle when it dipped to about 500rpm, the idle would rise to 1600rpm when coming to a stop but then drop low, drank fuel badly

:)

Nasty, looks like yours is split in two places. They always seem to go in that spot on the hose! I checked mine after I RR'd it in 2010 and it had gone from 189bhp to 173 since the last RR session and was throwing the 17705 code, sure enough it was split in exactly the same place as yours.

its amazin the difference a busted hose makes. ive wrapped it up until the weekend but its sooooo smooth and nice to drive again now.

Quite enjoying getting to know the car lmao, all these little jobs im doing at the moment make me feel one with the skoda  cant wait to get retrofitting my HID's

yes those hoses make a massive difference, and those clips are literally supplied by satan, i hate them with a passion, i have systematically removed them from every vag car i own/have owned!!!

while you are under the manifold its worth adding in some extra check valves (metal ones are better) and possibly replacing the "suction jet pump" if your can car is highish miles.
