new yeti wait till engine beds in ?

Featured Replies

We have got ourselves a Yeti se 4 x 4 110bhp, waited a long time for her. she is a great machine and if she lasts as long as the Fabia and as little trouble. well. even better. anyway, the common rail diesel engine is a little different from the pump duse( sorry) so we were wondering about a remap/ tune from the proffesionals up the road, only is it a good idea to up the bhp on a new engine ( less than 1500 miles on clock )? or wait until there is afew more miles on the clock?

don t want to do anything to compromise Mrs C"s new car!!!!!!

Thanks.

Should be fine.....Shark should be able to sort out a nice remap....my 110 bhp ish goes very well after a visit :-)

Would consider a brake upgrade if your looking at upping the power; personally find my 110 4x4 can take some stopping particularly fully loaded. Think it strange they don't fit the same front brakes as the 140; engine is the same and real world performance similar. Even more bizarre being the front callipers are identical to those used on both our Fabia's; 54 & 85bhp respectively, only the disc and pads are a tad smaller.

Not sure you would say that about the difference between my CR140 and your CR110 though......

I would recommend the 312mm brake upgrade from the CR 170.

I had mine remapped at about 2000 miles by Shark Performance.

I must say though that the engine felt like it has become more loose after she turned 17,000 miles.

Hi Mike,

yes if mapping ;) then the 312 front brake set-up would be best; although for a standard 110 4x4, then I believe from my own experience Skoda have under-braked the front.

Rear brake set-up is the same for all 4x4 models; Lucas system until Nov 2009, then Bosch to date.
