Baby Travel System for VRS

Featured Replies

My missus is expecting our first child, and I've been looking into baby stuff for the 04 Fabia VRS, and having no luck with a suitable baby travel system.

I've had a search through the forums and a some of the travel systems (the thing that turns from a car seat into a pram/buggy all-in-one type idea) that

have previously been suggested are unfortunately no longer for sale.

So I wondered what travel system folks would recommend that the baby seat fits in the back seats (rearward facing as it's for a newborn) and the carriage bit fits in the boot!

Any help would be much appreciated, as it's all new to me! Cheers!

We used a Graco travelsystem for ours - seatbelt fixing job. Worked well, and will be reused in a few months for our second.

We decided to keep our daughter (and the new addition) rear-facing, as it's FAR far safer, so we bought a Volvo-badged Britax Multitech ERF seat - I can tell you now, that will only just fit in a Fabia. It's a squeeze in the Astra! Good to 7 years though, if needed.

For #2 when that stage happens, and as a second seat for #1 in the Fabia (as the MT is so ruddy huge), we're probably going to go for a Britax Max-Way this time - smaller, but just as tough.

We had a silvercross sleepover, a big sturdy pram and you can buy the matching car seat which was really easy to fit and rear facing for safety. The pram had to be dismantled i.e remove wheels which was 1 pull per wheel and lift the body off also really easy to fit in the boot and then u could fit all your shopping inside the body. But if you were only nipping somewhere the car seat fit directly onto the chassis. Ideally you want something thats going to last through baby years into toddler and something that your child Is well supported in and comfortable and the silvercross definately had that. Lasted our daughterfrom birth to around three.

Cheers for replies!

Hi mate. Have had two babies in the last three years I'm very experienced in this lol

For my first I had the silver cross travel system. Very good looking with he clip on-clip off rear facing car seat. Very good looking and easy to use. However it was huge and a real pain to. Ram into the boot

So for my second I had a Quinny pram with the maxi cosi rear facing car seat. Very easy to use, very light weight and folds extremely small

Hope this helps
