We seem to be getting a wierd one , the fuel flap sticks and wont come open , no amount of pushing gentle or otherwise will get it to budge , wife had to force it at one petrol station so at the weekend i had to force it again and gave the actuator a spray with WD40 and it worked perfectly , however when it needed fuel again this week its stuck solid again

Anyone else had issues ??

Is it anything to do with door locking /unlocking, because iirc the fuel flap locks when all the doors are locked, not sure if it unlocks when all doors are unlocked, or if it does it when just the drivers door unlocks. Maybe have a quick play with it? It could be that on key removal your car is coded just to unlock the drivers door, not all doors, and maybe the fuel flap is staying locked?

No its the push in and release catch thats faulty , it has worked fine for the last 3 years and 45k miles only started doing it recently

Don't use wd40, it dries after a while and leaves a covering of protective film to stop corrosion.

Use a grease spray instead, the type motorcyclists use on their bike chains.

Had prob on previous Octy.
