You really need a custom map to take advantage of a TIP. Even then you won't see a huge bhp increase but the turbo should spool up a bit quicker. If you speak to whoever did your current remap they might be able to custom map it for a small extra fee once you've fitted a TIP.

I've seen videos of the standard TIP collapsing but that was under high boost pressures on Audi TTs with K04's so probably not much danger of that happening on the VRS.

The restrictive part of the inlet is not the rubber pipe bit anyway its the metal elbow into the turbo inlet.
