Vrs Spring Snapped... Suspension help ?

Featured Replies

Hi

Just had my car fail its MOT on a fractured front spring.

I have been considering a suspension change for a while

I find the standard suspension hard and the ride crashy.

I do not want a low riding car

As the spring will need replacing, considering upgrading the whole lot

Understand Coilovers are very hard but a better set up than standard

Consensus is that a well set up shocks and springs is as good as most set ups.. Bilsteins have been recommended,

however have never driven a modified suspension vRs

Any recommnedations welcomed ( if you have first hand experience)

Need to get this sorted in 10 days

Thanks in advance

Did exactly what Hux recommends recently, handling and grip much improved. I also broke a front spring and since you have to replace them as a pair and fitting the rears is a 20 minute job, getting all four changed cost £140 for the Eibach pro-kit springs and £100 for the fitting. Well worth it.

Think I have 2 sets of standard springs in the shed,

Sorry to detract from your thread but -

Wow those springs are cheap, wonder what it costs to fit ?

25mm is barely lowered is it, so I'll bet its not even an insurance issue. If it was me I'd get the Eibachs.

On a seperate note there was a golf behind me the other night with what seemed like busted springs, bouncing up and down like a blingmobile - very distracting and so I can completely understand the need for them to fail it.

I'll bet it also has a massive impact on braking and control etc ?

dominorising I got the Eibachs Pros fitted 2 weeks ago, handeling is great compared to standard (I also have a rarb)

I think I paid around £140 at Unit 18 to have them fitted which included tracking

Pm me if you want to meet up to see how my car sits etc as im in Northampton

As mentioned the Eibach Pro springs are a very good option.

Give me a shout if you need any prices.
