Love My New Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Hi All

I got my new VRS on Thursday as well, I went for DSG Diesel in Black Magic,

Love the car Love the DSG box.

But as I will be living in Germay I need to Change the Rear Fog Lighe to the other side, does anyone know the code to swap the fogs over or to have both on?

Iirc With vcds go into 09 central electrics, coding, long coding helper and it will be obvious, although I have not looked at this on an fl. on my pre fl I enabled both rear fogs but I believe this is not possible on the fl.

Lots of discussion on activating both rear fog lights on the facelift.

Some claim to have done it but lots more claim it can't be done.

It must be possible to code it somehow as that will be all Skoda do in the factory depending on which market the car is destined for.

  • Thanks guys, I'll ask at the local Skoda Garage, will let you all know the outcome

My Pre face lift Vrs has both rear fogs working but I don't think the Face lift can.

Don't think the Coming /leaving home light can be activated on the face lift either.

Glad u like ur new car but can I ask why black ? So much nicer colours to choose but I'm just a black hater, personnel preference I know :)

I was going to have the race blue, but my last car was blue, so decided to go for the black, looks nice when it clean,

and the wife likes it cause it got sparkly bits in it LOL

I like black. nice choice

Black looks good, mean and angry. Wish I had gone black instead of white again.

You get it from Murrays? I got mine from Murrays but the Newton Abbot dealership, they are a good bunch, they have a tech guy at Plymouth who seems pretty switched on, cant remember his name but he does a day or two at Newton Abbot solving electrical odds and sods, so hopefully can get you sorted :-)

No, Got it from a Tax free Dealer in Brighton, as I work for the MoD i am entitled to a tax free Car,

I'm leaving for Germany tomorrow so will have to get the lights sorted when I get there, will let you all know how I get on.

I took the car to a German dealer today, it was a bit difficult to explain with the language barrier, but they got the other rear fog light to work but not both of them and didn't like to complain as they did not charge me for doing it.

So it is possible to swap the rear fog light via software codes but not sure weather it's possible to have both working at the same time.

Apparently there is some evidence that having both / two rear fogs can cause problems with other drivers thinking you are braking. Personally I'm not sure how much of an issue it is but as mines an FL, I can't have both on anyway!
