Interent dealers

Featured Replies

Hi

I was looking at the popular internet car dealers this evening, namely Drivethedeal, Autofinders & Autoebid. I noticed they all showed good discounts on new vehicles, including the Yeti.

What surprised me most was the difference between their offers:-

Example Basic Yeti 2.0 CR diesel SE:-

DTD - £16190

Autofinders - £16895

Autoebid - £15570

I understand only Autofinders will take your vehicle in part-ex. Autoebid is so competitive on price and I may be tempted to deal with them in the future.

Anyone used them before? All feedback, good, bad or indifferent gratefully received.

Hi Chubbs,

I used Autoebid to get a great price on a CR170 Elegance Yeti with extras back in May 2011. They put me in touch with Autofinders and - although I was quoted 20-26 weeks, I was happy to wait. I have only just been given an approximate build date of May 2012 - with a likely delivery time of June/July 2012 - 14 months (although this is subject to further slippage....)

All in all, the customer service with Autofinders has been good. However, it would appear that they've been let down quite badly by their supplying dealers in this instance. They've essentially overallocated on their orders at the factory meaning very lengthy delays.

Would I use them again? Probably - the saving of around £3.5k for the car/spec I wanted is too great to turn down. However, if you're in a hurry, then alternative options may be best.

I bought my VRS via www.carfile.net and saved a small fortune in comparison to what Scottish dealers were able to offer. Carfile and their supplying dealer were first class, great communication and the car was supplied exactly as and when expected. The dealer even collected me from the airport. Personally I would have no hesitation in buying in this way again.

Scottish dealers just don't have enough competition...
