oil pressure gauge

Featured Replies

Looking at fitting an oil pressure gauge,I've been looking at various gauges most read to 100 psi or 7 bar,is this high enough?car is octy vrs,I seem to remember my mk1 golf gti had an oil pressure gauge in it when I bought it and it went up to 10 bar.

On a cold morning my oil pressure reads about 8 bar on start up if I remember correctly and sits at 2 bar when it's nicely warmed up

Thanks for that,I'm going to have to look for a gauge that reads higher than 100 psi or 7 bar.

Cold Idle: ~80 psi

Cold 2k rpms: ~90 psi

Cold 3k rpms: ~100psi (pegs the gauge)

Hot Idle: ~24 psi

Hot 2k rpms: ~50 psi

Hot 3k rpms: ~70 psi

Hot at redline can still peg the gauge (100 psi)

nice post clive!
