Bolero problems

Featured Replies

My Bolero on my FL Octy has started to come on by itself (it's on when I get into it after work or first thing in the morning-God knows how long it's been on for), it also changes from radio to SD card for no reason.....anyone got any ideas?

Maybe there's a problem with the switch that senses that the sd card is being removed/inserted. If you insert an sd card while the stereo is off then it turns itself on. If you insert an sd card while the stereo is on it switches over to sd mode. If there is a prob with that switch then the stereo 'thinks' this is what's happening and does the above. Have you tried just removing the card and positively reinserting?

Thanks for that Greggative.....I never thought of doing that.....I'll give it a go, I just hope it stops changing stations as well (although it didn't do it today)

Mine did this. I took it in to the dealer who fitted a new unit under warranty. Added bonus was that I got the latest firmware that speeded up the sd card reading.

I'll do that as a last resort as I still have almost two years left!

As it's under warranty, take it back in with this fault. With the symtoms you describe they're likely to replace the unit.

Especially if it's also changing stations randomly on you; this would be a hardware fault with the unit really.

I took the card out and pushed it back in.....so far it has been ok.....I'll take it back if it does it again

I have had my alarm go off a few times during the early evening (when it has been really cold) and both times when I have got to the car the stereo has been playing.

I think the stereo was setting off the alarm and each time the SD card seem to have reset to the first folder/Album. Could be my issue?

Recently had my bolero replaced under warranty, it wouldn't read the sd card and the screen went blank!! Dealer said they'd not had any problems with them before, but the diagnostics showed there was a problem. Told me it would be £2500 :o for a replacement if it wasn't under warranty :whew:

New unit reads the sd card in not time compared to the old one

£2500 for a Bolero replacement?! Yeah, OK then. Dealer's living on another planet.

£650 i saw somewhere!

I had my Bolero replaced under warranty because the touch screen stopped responding - MFSW controls were fine and the main buttons were OK - but the screen wouldn't work.

I took a video of it to prove to the dealer as this was the second time it was done.

Replaced under warranty but the invoice said £850 incl labour - cancelled out as a Free Of Charge.

So God knows where your dealer managed to get over 2 grand for it.

Did they not mistake it for 2 Columbus units? :)

£2500 for a Bolero replacement?! Yeah, OK then. Dealer's living on another planet.

I upgraded to a Columbus the other day anyone wants my 1 year old Bolero I will undercut the dealers by a fiver and deliver/fit it all the way from Holland for that price :giggle::rofl: NUTS! I think they may have been smoking something. :giggle: :giggle:
