Hand Break

Featured Replies

Anyone had a problem with their hand brakes?

Mine started playing up a couple of weeks ago, as you lifted it you could feel it moving to the side and grinding.

It went in for a service last week and is booked in next Tuesday/Wednesday for them to look at the problem.

Anyone else had this problem.

Never heard of any handbrake problems myself.

PS. Welcome to the forum. :)

I had a problem with my handbrake being stiff when released, this was due to the release cable becoming kinked ( I believe that Octavias tend to suffer from this problem). Mine was fixed under warranty at first service.

Hi and welcome,

if you have a Yeti with an arm rest, then there have been cases of the slider that covers the handbrake slot, getting stuck in it's tracks as it moves up and down with the leaver.

Just had the Yeti returned and the Blind had collapsed. They replaced the assembly under warranty.

Don't know what the blind assembly is but its working fine now. Something for people to watch out for.

If you look at the end of the hand brake lever, as it goes into the central cubby box, you will see there is a cover that moves as you pull the lever up and down; that's the "blind".

Thanks i'll have a look next time i use the car.

This happened to mine as well, the pin had jumped out of the tracking rail, or something like that.
