Green Or Red

Featured Replies

Shall I get a Green air filter or is it worth the extra tenner for a K&N, I have used K&N in my last 2 cars and my current bike but have heard of Green filters on other posts, are they washable just the same thanks.

Peeps say the Green cotton filter is kinder to the MAF, dont know how true it is though.

i dont like k&n just because of the name :D

They do the same job, so it's up to you. It's down to personal preference really.

Can you clean and re-oil the green filter.

yes, I did with mine and even used the K&N oil as it's all the same stuff but with a different dye

A good fact to note.......if you were to do a search on ebay....you'll notice that a lot of people do try to sell their old K&N filters ...but will u NOT find a single GREEN filter for sale.

Also GREEN uses 2 layer cotton whereas K&N uses 4 layer cotton.......upside with that means that GREEN has better filtration but doesnt hold dirt as well as K&N, but then again washing the filter more frequently does help in performance be it K&N or GREEN. GREEN's oiling is better equipped for cotton filters as its a lighter oil compared to K&N.

Here's some food for thought........
