Car bra's are/were all the rage in the US at one point, the rubbing will over time do more damage to the paint than the stone chips ever could and over a much larger area. 'Cheap' anti chip films are inexpensive enough and you could probably do a reasonable job on key area's cutting to pre-made templates but the answer as always is leave a bigger gap. I might order some in if I can be bothered and have a play but on an 11 y/o car it's not exactly a priority for me.

not if you keep ontop of keeping under it clean n keeping the paint protected,behind them is pretty soft

Not my style really, twinned with the damage it does if used long term I just rather leave a nice gap between me and the car in front and accept that i`ll get the odd stone chip. Quite like pasty boys **** idea though, might give that a try.

Clear vinyl would do the job without lookin like an idiot! Personally I don't like these and I know someone that had one on a KA!!! Looked hilarious :p

What some people fail to realise when mentioning stopping stone chips etc which is a valid point is they trap bits at the top too with a bra on, so its a little counter productive.

That said i washed my car at the weekend and removing the layer of dirt revealed a bonnet which is horribly chipped and my response was a shrug so maybe i'm not the best point of reference in this thread

Honestly, I think they wreck how a car looks. I get the purpose of them and all, I get a number of stone chips but I'd take that compared to ruining the look of the car. Suppose its different if your wanting to use it as a daily drive and a immaculate show car.
