Interior upgrades

Featured Replies

Ok so I'm looking to upgrade some of the interior electronics in my mk 2 vrs. Firstly I have been offered the dual climatic control unit, so can this just replace the dials that are there now and be activated through vag com? Next I would like Bluetooth installed, I have the swing radio so I don't know if there is a Bluetooth module that can be bought and "added on" if you like. Next, if can't do that I might go for the RNS 510 sat nav unit. Again this will need a Bluetooth module so might also need activating on vag com. Anyone shed any light on this?

I have the swing radio and the Bluetooth installation both from factory so they work perfectly together.

However, generally speaking, unless you find some bargain on the unit and have time to do the installation yourself, the retro-fitting costs of such equipment (especially from dealers) are outrageous to a point where its just making it not worth it.

don't quote me on this but I've got a feeling the standard dials uses a pull/push cable system to operate the air flow direction so got a feeling as the previous poster says might be quite pricey to convert.good idea though, would like to know the outcome

Hi Mate

Was thinking about doing the same thing to my car but after speaking to my mate from the garage I changed my mind and I'll stick with the dials. In order to get the electronic ones to work you will have to buy a completly new air con unit (not just the dials but new diffuser and whole unit inc fans, module etc) from the car with electronic dials and climat control...

Not worth it mate...Should've just orderded the car with climat control as it's cheaper...

Never mind ok so with the Bluetooth module, I can just buy the part and fit it myself? Easy as that?
