Perfect, just what I wanted to see!

Looks excellent in my view, now just need to convince SWMBO obeyed as she likes the silver accents!

That interior is the dogs danglies.......FACT!

It's very nice indeed - WANT!

Also good that it's a no cost option too; wasn't expecting that :)

Had 1 in the other day and it really is beautiful.

Don't get me wrong the 'standard' trim is nice but the all black, IMO just finishes the car off.

Great option

If you had a choice of Black Alcantara or Black leather which would you choose and why?

I'd go for the alcantara option over full leather. Not really a fan of full leather, I find you move about a bit more in the seat because of it, plus it can be quite uncomfortable in summer (when we get them!) and cold in winter (which is what heated seats are for :))

So alcantara with leather bolsters would be the best option for me - perfect :)

Yes I think it looks lovely, think providing I get the green light from the wife to order the car then I will have it, my only reservation is the black carbon inserts, cant help but feel that it is 'cheap', feel that I want to swap it for the silver inserts!

I'll swap you my silver trim! :-)

I was a bit disappointed when i found out mine vRS had carbon trims instead silver, but now that i am using the car i like them, and i actually don't even pay attention to the fake carbon look

Yeah if I do have a new one, then yes this could be a possibility, if I dont get on with it then I would happily swap it over, is it difficult to take the trim off, or is it all just clip on trim?

My other option would be to plastidip the carbon for some other colour and then that does at least allow me to return it to standard when I sold it.

I've just swapped my diesel for a petrol with the black interior; It's stunning, the pictures don't do it justice, especially the red stitching around the steering wheel, gaiter etc.

Onto the carbon trim. They do not photograph well at all, I thought they looked tacky. Having seen them in the flesh I prefer them to the silver, but lets face it, the choice is fake aluminium or fake carbon...they're both naff. I'd far rather they put some of the high gloss black in, at least then it isn't pretending to be something it isn't.

i wonder if its possible to "color/dye" the existing silver alcantra look to black?

just the bits on the seats.

i'm happy with the silver trim on the dash.

As Wardy said, Alcantara over the leather for the same reason as well.

The fake carbon does look quite nice, it's personal taste but as also mentioned, fake carbon or fake aluminium!

Could be worse, could be wood decor :giggle:

Don't know how hard it is to remove all the plastic to either have it painted or wrapped, but if the carbon isn't to your taste i'm sure someone on here has removed it. You could always wrap it and when you come to sell it you have the option of 2 colours then?

Plenty of people have done it, so should be quite simple to remove and paint :)

OK as I understand it the door trim is fixed with heat expanded pins that must be drilled out. It's not a five minute job. If you were to just remove, paint and replace the original trim then it would require gluing back in place. Do-able but involved. If it was replacement trim (which I've tried to source in plain gloss black and can't find the part numbers for) then you could re-attatch using a soldering iron to melt the pins in place or just glue it on. Dash trim just unclips but not sure about the ashtray.

One strip of that fake aluminium split on my drivers door. The whole panel had to be replaced as the sealer said it is not a seperate item

So probably not as easy to swap/recolour then? Could go down the plastidip route then as that would recolour it then if and when I want to put it back to original I can just peel it off?

Anyway, going to test drive a VRS TDI CR DSG tomorrow and providing its as good as I am hoping then I will be ordering, I am swapping from the TSI DSG to CR DSG purely for the economy and cost savings, I am not a huge mileage man, but do about 10-12K per year and my PCP amount each month wont go up much, but I am saving on the insurance as its cheaper, plus the MPG will be better, besides I just like changing my a lot! So if its a good car then I will order one!

Going to go for:

Candy white

black alcantara interior

auto lights and rain sensor

rear parking sensors

heated seats

bluetooth

spare wheel

cant think of anything else really, not bothered by xenons, never had them so wont miss them, the only thing I am torn on is the Columbus, must admit I quite fancy it, and although it will be a few quid extra per month I just like my gadgets! Not interested in an ebay one as its a huge chunk to pay out in one go, so am considering biting the bullet.

Anything else obvious that I need over my current one??

Was told yesterday it is currently 11-14 week lead time, so that takes it to start of June which is just right for me, ideal!

i was talking about recoloring the alcantra fabric on the seat - the silver / grey bit.

....to change it to a black color.

so the seats r black altogether - not two tone.

The Columbus is awsome - the way it integrates is great and I find it a real boon. Make sure you get the multi function steeing wheel (I think you will anyway if you go for bluetooth. Also have the MDI fitted as it's a right royal PITA to do afterwards. You won't regret the Columbus!

Well I had my test drive in the Octavia VRS CR TDI DSG today, and to be honest I was very impressed, the car had been bought up from another dealership 30 miles away for me, so when I got in it I had the benefit of seeing the MOG it had acheived on the journey before it reset itself, and it was showing 52mpg, which in my TSI the same journey would of been showing approx 32mpg, so that was a good start!

Overall, I found the engone slightly more noisy obviously being a diesel and it was slightly slower, but only slightly, overall, it was a pleasant surprise, I found the handling to be very similar to my TSI.

So, overall I was pleased, so on the basis of that, I ordered!!!!

Settled on keeping within my monthly budget, and gone for Candy White (was so close to saying Rallye Green and Black Wheels!), Black Alcantara VRS interior, rear parking sensors, bluetooth, heated seats, auto lights/rain sensor, 11 to 14 weeks to wiat which takes me til the middle of June, so yes very happy!

With my new PCP in place, plus my mileage, insurance saving, I will be saving approx £60-£70 per month, which is a result, OK I lose a bit in performance, but overall, the money in my wallet is more important at the moment.

I will no doubt change it again in about 18 months when the new VRS is out or the Vision D VRS as I never keep my car the term!

I got a great price for my current car, so overall, a good result!

The wait wont be too bad as it just means I can savour my current TSI for the moment!!!

I have acheived what I wanted to acheieve really, i.e. the same car with the same spec but with some savings along the line, job done!

Having read on here about someone 'other half' doing a countdown calender for the fridge door, I think I will do the same!!!

Yes I really wanted the columbus, but it just took me out of my budget a bit too much, yes it was something I would of liked and would of been a real luxury, so will have to settle with the sat nav app on my phone! And kids will have to use the ipad to watch films on!
