Low Miles & Standard 52 Octavia VRS Black - SOLD

Featured Replies

My prized Octavia VRS is up for sale. Having just inherited a MPV we've had to put one of our Octavia's up for sale - and the VRS has drawn the short straw (the other one is a TDi, so is better for commuting on the motorway)

Its a midnight black version that I've had since December 2009 and looked after to the best of my ability. The other car has had children and dogs crawling all over it, but this one was MY car, and so was kept in good order, cleaned and serviced. I'm in my mid forty's and don't feel the urge to rag my car all over the place so I've driven it really carefully - getting on average about 380-390 miles between fills of about 48 litres or so. If you are really careful you can get it over 45mpg on a run.

Of course, if you put your foot down it flys.

I've replaced 3 vacuum pipes on it now (pretty much all running problems seem to be either split pipes or fubarred coil packs - I've only had the pipes), the hatch lock has been replaced and the door electrics sorted out (the famous octavia convenience unit problem). Over the last two years I've also had to replace two front road springs which broke overnight in the freezing conditions and the front anti roll bar bushes were replaced. The last road spring was replaced just this week.

The engine has not been messed with and only fully synthetic oil and Skoda filters used in the service.

The MOT is till November 17th 2012

The TAX is valid till December 2012

Mileage is 82,000K

The interior is very clean and there are no rips or tears in the seats. The lid to the cigarette bin thing doesn't stay down but otherwise the interior is pretty much perfect - and a very nice place to be when driving.

I want £2250 or the nearest offer.

I will post up some interior piccys soon but here are some exterior shots for now. The car has just had a full valet.

I don't get this - this car is a cared for, unmodified and clean example. It should be getting more interest than this... :(

Its a nightmare to get rid of them pal theres such a large pricing range . Had mine up for ages and its very good order hopefully its away tonight though

glwts

A mate of mine is looking for an ocy, yours looks tidy. I'll let him know.

Looks lovely mate GLWTS just hang on don't give her away. I paid £3250 for my 2002 Octy last summer with 68 k on the clock. Yours looks every bit as good as mine. Come on Brisky folk get your wallets out. A hell of a lot of car for 2.5k !

the problem is there are lots on the market and the prices are very low as the car market is still dead

be lucky to get 2k in this climate its a pita !!!

Dropped the price again - I really need to sell this car!

A mate could be interested I'll send him a link, but what service history does it have? When was the last service and last cambelt change?

if this was in 6 months time i would drive the 200 miles to buy this. looks fabulous.

Re the cam belt. The dealer told me it was changed at 60K (I bought it at 61K miles). Clipping the cover off and it looks perfect - no tears or perished areas. However, I am arranging to have a new one fitted anyway next week, so it will be sold with a brand new cam belt - just fitted.

Can't remember what history there is (I am away from home right now so can't check). But since I've had it, I've got my brother in law to do the servicing, and with the correct VW grade Fully Synthetic oil. He was a fully trained car mechanic and owned his own garage, not that you need masses of qualifications to service one of these engines. The emissions are bob on, there is no smoke and it runs beautifully and strongly (if you want it to).

Cam belt replacement has been booked in for next Mon/Tues.

In terms of service history, I've got a pile of receipts for work I've had done and the Skoda service schedule has its last entry in July 2008. I bought it in 2009 and have serviced it myself (or the brother in law) meticulously since. Of course there is no 'history' for this work but I can assure 100% that it was performed. As a result of careful maintenance and very careful driving the car still feels tight and solid when on the move with a wonderfully quiet but powerful engine.

why replace the cambelt at great cost? with the price of your car you will never recover the cost, better off knocking the price off to new buyer
