Has anyone who has fitted a short shifter on a 6 speed TDi measured what the before and after throw of the lever was/is?

Looking for one for a TT but a few people have said there is little to no difference to the OE shifter??

If I remember correctly the forward/back motion is reduced from 12.5 to 10 cm, which is a reduction of 20%. Side to side stays the same. I found it very noticeable and a cracking little mod for £25. Mine was on a Tsi mind you, I'm assuming it would be similar?

where can i get one of these from for a 2.0t vrs?? and is it easy to fit or a garage job?

They're from an audi dealer. If you search in this section there is a lengthy thread which has the part number in. Looks like any competent person can fit it in about 20 mins.

Yes, you are right DavidSR, the thread has loads of info but I believe no one could confirm if a short shifter could be fitted to a CR....I would fit one if it had been done before.

Falkster they do indeed do one for the CR (6 speed box) however there is a guy on the TT forum who has just changed his and there was no difference in the travel of the lever at all
