Bumper Centre Trim

Featured Replies

My 02 Octy's black trim on the front and rear bumper is looking faded, is it possible to change the trim ?

yes it come off very easily.... you can prise it off with screw driver or similar becareful not to scratch your paint work!

there was a rear one on ebay yesterday starting bid 4.99 this was brand new for the back bumper

alternativly swop them over with a new one you see parked in a dark street...they come off and go on that easily and quickly

Have you tried "armour all" dashboard wipes? About

I wish that one was closer to me - mine was slightly damaged by a muppet in a car park and they're about 40 quid from the dealer.

Peanut butter works best for restoring these.

I must admit I'd never have guessed that a 3 year old car would suffer from faded trim, just my luck. I bought the car new and have never used anything on the trim other than washing it.

the other two things you coudl try again shot term soultions back to balck...or some sort of oil like baby oil or veg oil applied with a rag...

id imagine the coke to dry sticky...and you woudl hords of wasps and ants all over the car lol

get them bodycoloured?

What really annoys me is that the car is still under warranty and when I asked my local dealer about whether its covered under the 3 year bodywork warranty, he just said it would be hard to prove that you didn't use anything on it to cause it too fade ! If I went down the route of having them colour coded, would the paint finish come out smooth because the plastic is grainy ?

if you told the body shop you did not want it grainy they coudl rub it until it was smooth before spraying it

Joel

Mine are smoothed and colour coded.

The body shop I went to refused to do mine :( said they would peel eventually but I think he just didn't want to do it.

Was it expensive to get yours done?

Sounds like they weren't confident in their work. Had mine done at JBS, can't remember the price but it's worth it, even on a black car.
