ONLY applies to pig fuel drivers: ie UNLEADED :finger:

Us sensible TDi drivers can still decat to our hearts content :D:D:D

Checked the data as at 16/03/05 :thumbup::thumbup:

I ain't bothered - I'll happily wave my current MOT certificate and emissions test in front of the people's faces. :D

I think they do spot checks based on what they can see coming out the back of the car and how it sounds to them.

I seem to recall a vaid MOT certificate being no defence in a court. The certificate says your car complied on that day and has to be rechecked a year down the line, but it does not say it is ok now.

That'd be right. An MOT Cert *only* proves that the car was legal at the time that it passed, it can still be rechecked by a Vehicle Examiner at a later date and be found to have a fault that would fail it on an MOT. if that makes sense

Yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah

sorry couldn't resist

A diesel car does NOT need a cat

end of convo

I asked at the MOT testing station

and was told that I could bring the car in decatted and they wouldn't care as long as it passed emissions tests

There is NO legislation regarding diesel cats (at the moment)

The MOT Centre I went to only does MOT Testing and does all the local trafpol cars

I feel safe driving without one

Calm down it's not so bad!

Look at "VOSA now have the power to stop motorists"

If you have a decat you are not posing an immediate danger to other road users so they will give you 10 days to rectify the issue. Not a problem - OK it might be game over if you run a decat but all that will happen in reality is you have 10 days to get a cat put back on and get a new MOT certif. Not the end of the world! Yes it will spoil your fun but it's certainly not the end of the world - just think it could be worse, you might be driving a diesel

Welcome to my Top Ten :D:cool::finger:

The only really interesting thing imho was the fine amount versus driving uninsured/stolen vehicle ;)
