Octavia 2 reversing sensor controller location & testing

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have an intermittant fault on my reversing sensors. i.e continual beeping on passenger side. I have reviewed the forums and think it may be an individual sensor.

I have checked and all are clicking at the same rate.

I plan to disconnect one at a time at the parking sensor control unit and would appreciate it any one can confirm location of this unit in an Octavia 2.

I am also thinking of a Gendan fault code reader as I plan to keep the car for some years yet and would again appreciate feedback if this will read parking sensor faults as well as the usual engine systems. I do not plan to go the whole hog and buy a PC based system as I do not feel I need it.

Many thanks,

Peter C.

I have an Autel code reader (often badged as Sealy and others) I am begining to regret buying.

It failed to reset the service interval properly and some of the "faults" it is recording are surely bogus. I.e. automatic gearbox sensor faults on a manual car. Your experience may vary but I wish I had paid for the PC based VCDS right at the start. I think the VCDS is available in two "flavours" where the one for newer cars is cheaper - worth a thought. http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCMC.html
