Breather pipes

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Now I know this subject has been done to death, but I am going to renew the hoses under the manifold as I am starting to get fumes coming through the vents on cold startup and in traffic.

What I need to know from you kind souls who have already done this is should I retain the factory "T" piece and order a new one together with the hose that connects to the "Y" pipe from Skoda or go silicone like this -

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item48414ab287

I intend to get the other pipe that comes from the "T" piece to the inlet manifold from Awesome GTI, just not sure whether to change from OEM on the "T" piece - there is such a thing as trying to get too cleverAs always, thanks in advance for any helpPhil

go silicone - cheaper and will last longer

creation motorsport do a set of 3, the one you have listed, the Y pipe, and the other pipe coming off this T-piece for around £70

Look on ebay m8, personally I think silicon pipes from awesome are way over priced. Item numbers 160737623986 360337486220 120741520356 310333059719 think its the last one you was looking for?

Thanks guys,

Raf, the last number you listed shows an alloy tube with the hose, do I take it that does away with the PCV valve?, as I'm not sure I want to do that at the moment?. Or do I put the valve in it's place if I still want to use it?.

Really grateful for the answers - thankyou

just replaced mine with oem stuff, cost me around £30 to replace both pipe, the original pipes lasted 9years .:)

i would go oil resistant rubber/silicone too, and fit a catch can at the same time. oil resistant hose isnt expensive, you buy a t piece and fit a catch can irradicating the annoying y pipe that tends to leak over time.
