Product recommendation for cleaning/polishing vRS Gigaro wheels

Featured Replies

I bought this 9 piece Microfibre cleaning kit from Tesco, it only costs £5 and I've found that the wheel brush is a perfect fit for getting in between the narrow gaps of the spokes on the Gigaro wheels - to me, it's worth a fiver for the brush alone.

I would guess that this product is only available in larger Tesco stores, so if you live near one, it's worth a try for £5.

I've since bought two more sets.

Tesco....taking over the world!!!

I've just bought 5 litres of cartec alloy wheel cleaner it's a Dutch product pretty good apparently no acid ph is little high tho ?

i use rim wax polish havent had any problems and pretty gd on exhaust trim aswell

Never put any sort of wheel cleaner on these alloys.

They clean really easy with a microfibre cloth as mentioned, but I have the peace of mind that there's nothing remotely 'acidic' is going near them.

Even after going straight into the Winter from new (with all the salt down) mine are absolutely perfect. Even the red calipers are still glossy without any taint. Previous coded calipers I've had have also been ruined in months using Wonder wheels etc.

This cartec stuff I've bought is acid free

I've never used wheel cleaner on the vRS and never will. I washed sealed and waxed on day one and waxed a few times since and it just washes off with a microfibre mitt.

Elbow grease and a toothbrush - preferrably not your own one.

Used a cheaper cleaner on my old Golf (once, never again) ........ surprised it didn't strip the rest of the car, brick acid was less corrosive! :wonder:

Most of the time it is concrete cleaner in the cheaper stuff. It's like Wonder Wheels. You may get away with it once but forget it after that

Arrrrr........thats why the wife said " why is my toothbrush black" :giggle: I wonder
