parking sensor fault?

Featured Replies

Hi all, any advice appreciated.

When I put my car (1.8 Auto T) in reverse the parking sensor bleeps once telling me it's in reverse but then goes off immediately, is this usual, or what do I need to do to rectify it?

Thank you, omnipeta.

Hi mate my superb has been nudged and 2 middle ones have been popped inwards. I tried cliping them back in but when I put it in reverse there is a long beep and then thats it nothing else. im guessing your sensor could be dodgy

VCDS diagnostics could give you a better idea of the failure cause - it should be able to tell you any sensors which have a fault and you can also see the measured distances on each sensor (compared against what they really should be). WHen I had a faulty sensor I could see it was reading random distance values whereas the rest were fine.

I had a sensor replaced under Skoda Approved warranty - worth bearing in mind if you have sucha a warranty, as they are pricey (almost £100 a pop, unique part to Superb)

Hi, I have had same problems with mine, replaced all the sensors with afteer market unit and disabled the factory fitted control unit, no more parking sensor problems

as they are pricey (almost £100 a pop, unique part to Superb)

Think you'll find the retail on these is now £105 + VAT

:((

wow, crazy. I think I need another one doing already. Good job I'm still in warranty...

This has to be one of the only faults that really bug me with the Superb, I have never bothered listening to them, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, we seemed to do alright on the roads without them before.................. :whew:

How do I get VCDS diagnostic? I know my friend has Vagcom?

Thanks
