I was concerned about this too. Made sure there was lots of space either side of the heat sinks. Vey Important. Then took it for a nice long run on a high level to check it. Was absolutely fine.

For those running really enormous amps (mine is only 400 watts)at very high levels you could install a cooling fan (PC type) on the underside of the false floor with a nice little connector to enable removal of the false floor.

Would be very flash!

.......and neons (the most pointless mod of all time...next to a flammer, IMHO).

Hmmm didn't know the 6502s were too deep.

Nick,

MCS are alot cheaper and IIRC, the price you quoted was correct. Not sure if they're still doing them though.

I got mine from Halfords but I can't remember paying

That price was for the 6502i - MCS don't quote 652i but something called 62.5i (sic) and 652.5i, both of which are

This will make the huge difference that everyone raves about?

I guess the real question is...what are you after from your sound system?

Anything aftermarket will sound better than the existing setup. If you want a system for the lowest price, you could spend

Thanks for the tips, guys. I went to Road Radio and they didnt even quote a model number. I am sure I can get them cheaper elewhere.

So in summary I need to get Infinity 652i's and if not available Ill let you know as the new ones don't fit without spacers. The two extra wires are for the tweaters and these need to be recrimped. Use anyhting pasitc or cardboard to space the cone off the back.

Hello,

As someone who has undertaken a complete ground up ICE fit, I may be able to offer a little advice.

I have the following in my Octy running (until I change it soon!!)

I have Crystal Audio CSC60S component speakers in the front, a single JL Audio 12W6 Sub, and a Lanzar Vibe 430 S 800 Watt amp. Naturally Sub and amp are in the boot. I also have a Bass DB level control unit fitted in the front console tray to control the amount of bass the sub puts out.

I needed to do a little bit of "fashioning" to get the Crystal cones in but it was well worth it. The tweeters were interesting to, with a bit of re-shaping but again worth it. Infact the sound is bloody unbelievable!!

I am running off this a Kenwood KRC 794 with 10 disc boot changer. It sounds sweeeet!!

My advice before you do anything at all in the Octy, is to invest in some serious soundproofing. See my threads and picys for all of this back in July. The reason for this is that the Octy does tend to rattle and bang when it sees any bass at all. Ha but not now. By the way forget Dynamat, it's ridiculously expense and hard to put on. I used Aquaseal which is used to line houses for waterproofing and it's easy to put on. I seem to recognise your name as being on Talkaudio.

If not then www.talkaudio.co.uk is a great resource to use as well.

If you want more info send me a PM and I can give you my mobile if you need more info.

Good luck

If it sounds so sweet why are you going to change it, Funky?

How old is your Octy , cause my 03 model doesn't have any extra soundproofing and copes quite well with stupid amounts of bass. Having said that though I do have a cut off on my stereo so no bass below 78 Hz goes to the front components.

:D Nick,

It sounds sweeet but it's soon gonna sound even sweeeter.

Basically it's like a lot of things. Once you've done one thing you decide to play with other things, then you've got the bug and then...................

It's a bit like uprating and modifying.................but louder :asthanos:

and the result maybe....:speaker: :speaker: :speaker:

My Octy Dr Zoid is a 51 variety. Bare as you like, with very little soundproofing, apart from the bare minimum. When you are using a sub like mine, it will make your fillings rattle if you're not careful as well as the car!!!!!!
