In car DV recorders

Featured Replies

My DR400G will start recording if bumped. It has a G-meter type thing which you set the sensitivity for in the application. Not sure if mine has ever recorded whilst stood parked up though.

Mine records more or less constantly while parked if it is daylight. Turns itself off when dark but even a headlight reflection from a nearby car is enough to make it start recording.

Just checked the last week of footage on mine, and nothing captured when parked up, so as an experiment I have cranked up the sensitivity for parking mode and shall see what happens. :)

Maybe the owners of in car DV security could answer this ?

Do they record the likes of this incident i.e are they motion activated ?

You may get lucky if you had front and rear cameras, as the angle of the lens is fairly wide. So you may see the other vehicle driving away even though it's a bump in the side.

Yes, as said, they can be set with an adjustable motion detection setting.
