Headlights switch to high beam by themselves

Featured Replies

I've had an issue with my headlights for a couple of days now. When I switch the headlights on they behave themselves for about thirty seconds and then a buzzing noise starts. Once the buzzing starts, the high beam light on the dash flickers on and then the headlights switch themselves to full beam and occasionally flicker. Turning off the headlight switch (to sidelights) doesn't always turn the high beam off.

Flicking the indicator stalk to "flash" occasionally clears the fault temporarily but then it comes back.. None of this is related to engine speed, other electrical items switched. I've got a feeling that it may be a new indicator stalk, complete with cruise controller, and several hundred pounds to fix.

Any other ideas as to the cause would be most welcome.

High beam relay? It might be in your fusebox

I know you can set high beam to auto come on at 100mph via vag com if any others have something similar
