Any expereince with K&N induction kit?

Featured Replies

Has anyone had any experience with the K&N induction kit for a fabia vRS?

K&N

How good are they?

Thanks

Not with Fabia - has it got a MAF?

If so heard that K & N's are heavily oiled which can cause the MAF to go tits up....check out Green Cotton Dynatwists

Looks like it would be sucking lots of warm air as it doesnt seem to be shielded in any way from heat generated by the engine. Not worth the money IMO.

Ive got a 57i kit for my vRS. There is a pipe that draws cold air from the grill to the filter in the kit.

I havent fitted it yet as im gonna give the car a proper 'run in' but am wondering if ive made the right decision buying the k & n!? As everyone seems to be going on about replacement filters rather than the stock ones fitted.

Ive ran k&n ind. kits in previous cars and found that they are a lot less restrictive than having your standard airbox and filter but people on here dont seem to think the same?

Have i wasted

Everyones got me worried bout fitting it!!!

Not sure if i should or take it back and get a refund?

Anyway i have started a thread on this problem of mine!! hehe

Thanks

When I sold my vRS alloys I met a chap who had brought his vRS and it had a 57i kit, did sound a bit different on idle to mine but I would definately recommend getting a few more cold air feeds as the intake they supply is much smaller than the PD 130 Intake, let alone the Cupra 160 intake (about a 3rd of the size) unless of course he had fitted that himself as it looked an extremely cheap piece of kit.

The guy also advised he had only fitted it recently, he did say it felt smoother, but he had also just fitted a tuning box from Ebay so this could be a placebo effect. One things for sure though it looks VERY mucky, VERY quickly.

If you have 2/3 proper cold air feeds running to it from the grill, lower bumper and maybe even one wheel arch I would say it would be as effective, but looking at the OEM airbox with a Cupra Intake I would say it seems a nice bit of kit anyway.

i really wouldnt fit an open i/k even with lots of feeds tbh you cant beat a good airbox or closed i/k
