Columbus and MFSW fitted.

Recommended Posts

Finally got the Columbus and MFSW finished over the last week. Why Skoda wont sell you a manual car with MFSW I've no idea.

With help from the following links..(amongst others)

I didnt write out a full "how-to" as it's all been done before and is nothing new. The links above give lots of pictures and details of removing wheels.airbags etc.

Got the steering wheel here..

http://www.skodateil...5%29%20facelift

Coded in with VCDS, Updated firmware and V8 maps and some custom POI's using POI Inspector http://poinspect0r.blogspot.co.uk/

Changed a few other bits with VCDS, CH lights via fogs, Country code to Australia to get rid of the km/h speed as per http://www.briskoda....d-from-maxidot/ and turned off the annoying seat belt warning.

Next up is reverse camera and ECU remap....(when funds allow!)

Keith, I don't suppose you have the part number for that black trim do you? My parts dept. wasn't sure and it seemed that Briskoda had more info than he did!

Also is it textured or sold black? It looks textured but I think it'll still fit my Piano black L&K interior better than the silver trim!

I've got it somewhere I think. Should be easy for your dealer to find the one you need though. Just match the option 'PR' code from your car against the one you need. 5 minutes on the dealers parts system found mine. Its not solid black, it's the newer textured type finish that was introduced on the VRS in late 2011.

Keith - quick question; did the MF wheel have a skoda part number on it? If so, did you note what it was?

TIA.

Rob.

No it didnt have any part number on it. Its usually on a sticker in the recess where the airbag fits but that wasn't present on mine.

I bought it from Skodateile, After my local dealer insisting it didn't exist. I priced a DSG wheel from the dealer as a comparison and Skodateile were far cheaper. He's a good guy to deal with and it arrived in under a week from CZ.
