Yeti ordered at 'cost' price

Featured Replies

Ordered my Yeti last Sunday with a dealer promo of 'cost' price which was 8% off!

1.2TSI DSG SE Plus in Candy White

Added auto lights, dimming mirror and wipers and a spare wheel.

Build date week 24 so around a 12 week wait, which is good for me!

Does anyone know if the Amundsen supports AD2P Bluetooth screaming in this spec as the user guide sort of implies it does.

Nice one Mr Zippy

12 weeks doesn't sound too bad at all.

Other people have said there is a big delay with the DSG box so that is quite encouraging.

Dealer showed 10-12 week wait for petrol.

9-12 months diesel.

Ordered my 1.2 tsi with DSG on 5th Jan, delivered on 15th March. No problems at all and 11% discount.

Good luck with the new car but 'selling at cost price' is a bit of a marketing trick tbh! Expect 12-15% to more realistically represent what the dealer makes from the deal.

Hence the emphasis on 'cost'.

Although legally this is dubious it was a good discount with no haggling required :)

The haggling is the best part! ;-)

I must be the only person in the world never to manage to get any money off when I buy new cars.... I just get laughed at by the sales staff. I do however seem to get better than trade in value on the car i already own that is part of the deal. :wall:

12 weeks is about right for the DSG in the Yeti at the moment.......but a year for a Roomster??????!!!!!!!!

Matt, it's swings and roundabouts, a discount on the car or more for the part exchange, just depends on how you look at it.

I tried my best to haggle when trying to order my SM from local dealer in Feb but he wouldn't knock a single penny off.

I was gobsmacked! I thought he would at least offer a few hundred quid off but no, he did the old talk to the manager trick, came back and said 'no discount at all'.

Then he tried to sell us the demo car we had driven even though we had made it quite clear it was the wrong colour and didn't have the options we wanted.

I explained to him I was aware he would find it difficult to match internet prices but I was willing to pay a bit more for the ease of using him, customer service etc, still no discount.

Couldn't be bothered with going round other dealers just did DTD, no hassle and a very good price.

Two days later got an email from the local dealer asking how I was getting on which I thought was a bit strange, but guess he had to do that as part of his customer service?

Don't be afraid to walk away if you're not happy with the deal.

I ordered a 170hp diesel Elegance on Friday and was told that it would be Build Week 30, late July. I got a deal on that car as well.

Now, if only I could make up my mind on colour . . .

Ooh that's less than four months, looking good.

As for colour, muscovado is great but my next Yeti will be an elegance with Rosso Brunello and Gobi leather.
