Featured Replies

Are we bu66ery overdoing the thread - I need all the info I can get to prepare me for the change from Octy vRS to Fabia vRS on Saturday :)

If anyone has already done this change please feel free to impart knowledge on the changes I can expect apart from twice the MPG which I'm really looking forward to :) :) :) :)

Basically....

Try and keep revs above 2,000 when pressing on. Dont be scared to rev it to 4k+, gentle and progressive throttle usage. Lots of gearchanges needed to keep it on the boil. Once you've mastered it, even the standard 130 bhp vRS is a devastating point to point machine.

I'm sure you'll grow to love it - I know I have, which makes it all the harder to part with it, when the day comes :(

Fitted the green filter last night to compliment cupra intake...it has definitely made my standard Vrs happier to rev and put a big smile on my face :D

Anyways, my no.1 driving tip sounds dangerous, but it isnt

To go around a reasonably sharp corner in 3rd gear it helps to apply the throttle slightly before the apex, this way the turbo is starting to spool up at the sharpest point and then pulls you out of corner :)

Feels strange at first but works well i find.

I've never really had to trash it much, but I must admit if I want to accelerate with a bit of urge it's at least down to 5th, sometimes 4th :) - and that's at motorway speeds :D

Took the long way home yesterday - my first proper B road blast - tractors, 4x4's, and even Lexus's (Lexi??) were left going backwards! These roads are where the car makes sense - the suspension is spot on for bumpy roads - you maintain grip without being shaken to pieces, the torque allows you to maintain a steady 70+ regardless of incline and the overtaking is effortless.

Now I remember why I bought this car! :)

I've read a few different opinions on whether the panel filter and intake have a good effect on the standard Furby - anyone like to comment?
